The COE Celebrity for the week of November 6th is Melissa Guitwein. Melissa is a Senior in the College of Education studying Special Education with a focus in Mathematics and a minor in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). Melissa is a part of the Urban Educators Cohort Program (UECP) and Kappa Delta Pi (KDP). Melissa's favorite part about being a member of KDP is talking to College of Education Alumni about teaching because they have great insights and know how it feels to be an undergrad. Congrats Melissa. To learn more about UECP and KDP look under the student organizations tab. Know a COE Celebrity? Let us know by emailing us at [email protected]. |

This week our COE Celebrity is not one, but a whole team of College of Education students from the MSU Men's Soccer Team. This past weekend they fought against Indiana University and came out at a draw, taking second place in the Big Ten regular season. Players on the team include #6 DeJuan Jones, #8 Brad Centala, #16 Connor Corrigan, #17 Michael Wentangu, and #29 Zach Covan. Congrats on a great regular season and good luck moving into post season games.
Want to attend a Men's Soccer Game? Their next match up is against Ohio State Sunday, November 5th at 1:00 pm. Know any COE Celebrities? Let us know who they are and what makes them so special by emailing us at [email protected].
A huge shout out to the Leadership Council for putting on the College of Education's very first student appreciation week. Thank you to all the students who came out to pick up a goodie bag, eat at the Panda Express fundraiser (we raised $46!) and de-stress with some Zumba. We'll see you in the fall with more COE student fun! In the meantime, don't forget to share your suggestions, comments, or concerns with the College of Education administration on this web site or through the anonymous drop box outside of the advising office, 134 Erickson Hall. For our final COE Celebrity of the semester, we have chosen the leaders of the COE Leadership Council, Megan Campbell and Vaughn Hubinger.
We would like to thank you both for your dedication to the College of Education and to the Leadership Council. We know that you have a bright future that waits for you beyond graduation at Michigan State.
