Today, March 25th, Kappa Delta Pi had their 6th annual I AM A TEACHER EXPO at Erickson Hall. Kappa Delta Pi is the international honor society in education and at the conference many future educators gathered to further their education in the profession they love. This year there were multiple session ranging from classroom management and surviving the internship year, to teacher evaluation and problem-based learning. For the keynote, Ben Pineda came from Haslett Middle School to exclaim what he does in his classroom and what we can all do to become the best educator possible during his presentation, we completed a rap written just for us. Also at the expo, Student Michigan Education Association (SMEA) completed a raffle for their outreach project. SMEA will be going into Post Oak Academy and painting the walls and providing a better learning environment for the students in the school. In total SMEA raised $140 for their project on April 8th.
